      Dear Pennsylvania NMA Members,

We urge you to call Governor Tom Wolf’s Harrisburg office and tell him to VETO Senate Bill 172, which if signed by the governor would place speed cameras in work zones and on US-1

During business hours, call 717-787-2500 and please tell the staff person who takes your call that the Governor’s decision on this bill will decide how you vote in the November election.

PLEASE PASS THIS INFO ALONG TO ALL PEOPLE YOU KNOW. THEY MUST CALL THOUGH, AS NO OTHER METHOD OF CONTACT IS FAST ENOUGH.

If the governor signs the bill, there will likely be poor traffic engineering, predatory ticketing of safe drivers, and the potential for errors on ticketing safe drivers going the speed limit. The bill went under significant changes and included the use of lidar by state police in work zones.

The NMA believes that work zones throughout the state and on US 1 could use some simple engineering fixes, which are free or low cost. Some of the fixes could include better signage and more significant traffic engineering of zipper merging.

Thank you for your support of Pennsylvania drivers and the National Motorists Association!
