Cars.com released its American Made Index highlighting the vehicles contributing most to the U.S. economy. Experts reviewed over 400 vehicles to select the 100 making up this year’s list by evaluating manufacturing, parts sourcing and employment.
Taking the top spot again is the Tesla Model Y, but rather than a clean sweep, the EV company is sharing the spotlight with Honda, each of which had three vehicles in the top 10 this year.
The complete top 10 list:
- Tesla Model Y
- Honda Passport
- Volkswagen ID.4
- Tesla Model S
- Honda Odyssey
- Honda Ridgeline
- Toyota Camry
- Jeep Gladiator
- Tesla Model X
- Lexus TX
Additional key findings from this year’s list as well as a national survey conducted by Cars.com include:
- 51% of vehicles on the list were assembled in the South, followed by 45% in the Midwest and 4% in the West.
- None of the top 10 vehicles were produced at a union plant.
- Lexus TX made the Top 10 with its first appearance on the AMI list, while the Toyota Camry and Jeep Gladiator both jumped 19 spots for a top 10 finish.
- Over half of Americans say they prefer auto brands that are built by union labor.
