UPDATE May 1, 2019: 2019 legislative session ended without action taken on bill.
UPDATE March 11, 2019: Unfavorable report by Committee.
HB 1041 was introduced on February 8, 2019 and referred to the House Environment & Transportation Committee which has scheduled a hearing for March 1st.
As noted by the bill title, HB 1041 would repeal the authority to use work zone speed control systems to enforce certain highway speed laws within work zones. The NMA, which has several objections to the use of speed camera systems, is supportive of this bill.
