When will truck tolls resume in Rhode Island?
Lawmakers in Rhode Island are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to deciding whether to resume the state’s truck-only tolls. Earlier this month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit ruled the state was free to resume the tolls on commercial vehicles at 12 bridges along the Rhode Island Turnpike.

This year, five states and Washington, D.C., enacted bills dealing with fully automated vehicles. The new laws in Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota allow for the operation of fully autonomous vehicles, while California’s new law deals with safety requirements. North Carolina’s brings the vehicles under updated dealer regulations for all cars. But many of the laws are being changed already.
These 5 auto recalls affected the largest number of vehicles in 2024
Automakers recalled millions of vehicles over the course of 2024 to address a variety of issues, typically related to the safety of the driver and passengers. The five recalls with the largest potentially affected vehicle populations this year came from four different automakers. Each involved upward of 1 million vehicles, with one of the recalls covering over 2 million.
