Last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk “painted a rosy picture” at the first Robotaxi business conference, announcing plans to produce a prototype Cybercab without a steering wheel and pedals starting in 2026, with very high production volumes by 2027. In order to mass-produce Cybercab, Tesla will have to overcome a major obstacle posed by U.S. government regulations.
