ParticipantDear Cyndi,
I am sorry to hear about your accident and appreciate your story and warning to other drivers. When I was 6 I lived in Las Vegas with my parents for a year and I remember it raining like cats and dogs every once in a while but as soon it was done, the sun would come out and it seemed within 10 minutes the rain water simply evaporated.
Sounds like the state was trying to cut corners in not providing proper drainage of highways. Does not help give solace though to those who are harmed because of it.
Keep on safe driving!

ParticipantI can certainly believe that. When speed limits are posted too low then motorists will drive at the speed that is safest. That is why the 85th percentile is so important to protect.

ParticipantHow has the transition been from your point of view?

ParticipantSo sorry to hear about your experience. I bet the police officer mixed up the cars! Thank you for fighting your ticket though! You stood up for yourself and that is something to be proud of! If you think Dinwiddie has a speed trap please place the information on our website at . Thank you too for sharing your story!

ParticipantYou are absolutely right! Ticket Quotas are about making money and not safety. Police Officers should not never be revenue generators…
Fight your ticket each and every time you receive one!

ParticipantYou are indeed correct about all the distractions that law enforcement ride with…really unbelieveable to think about!

ParticipantDear ENAR,
Would you be interested in writing a guest blog post or newsletter on why drivers education is critical to change the mindset on lane courtesy? We always welcome pieces from our NMA members.

ParticipantDear Alyx626,
Many folks have this problem…they eat too much fruit, or chew gum or mouthwash. You have two months to go so I would suggest be careful on what you eat and put into your mouth before you drive and while driving so that you can finish up your sentence.
Too many people have had to start again because of problems like these.
Good luck to you!

ParticipantYou are so right! Left Lane Hogs are so aggravating! I don’t think it is to aggressive. I myself have been thinking of making a hand made sign for tailgaters–that I show whenever some one is on my tail. Lack of lane courtesy and tailgaters are two of my biggest driving pet peeves!

ParticipantDear Enar,
All great ideas–this sounds like the beginnings of a great guest blog for the NMA during Lane Courtesy Month. Contact me directly for more information–nma@motorists.org.

ParticipantDear Rural Assist,
The NMA recommends anyone who receives a DUI needs to find a good DUI attorney since this is a serious offense. I would highly recommend that you do find one and soon so that he or she can answer these questions pertaining to your situation.
