Dear Georgia, South and North Carolina Members,
High-speed rail for passengers between Atlanta and Charlotte, NC could take just a little over two hours but will cost billions to build according to a new Atlanta Journal Constitutional article from October 21, 2019.
The US Federal Railroad Administration and GA DOT recently released a study concerning the possibilities of this new line that could cost upwards of $15.4 billion to build. No funding or construction timetable are not a part of the study apparently. The study does indicated that the line could serve up to 6.3 million passengers a year by 2050.
