The New York Legislature will finish on Wednesday. The Every School Speed Camera Act which is S6046C/A7798C should be defeated so that NYC does not become one giant speed trap.

If it becomes law, the number of school zone speed cameras expand from 140 to 290 with the program extended until 2021. If this bill is not passed, all the school zone speed cameras die in NYC since the program was not extended.
Over the weekend, the Senate dumped speed cameras into omnibus legislation that as of now is forecast to go nowhere.
