PA Lawmakers Propose Using Surplus Funds Instead Of Bridge Tolling

A new proposal in Harrisburg aims to eliminate the need to toll nine interstate bridges in Pennsylvania.

The plan was introduced this week and would see the state establish a $500 million trust fund in order to make the necessary repairs. The money would come from a combination of state surplus funds and unspent federal relief.

Supporters say it’s a better option than tolling drivers on a daily basis who use those nine bridges.
